Sales & Cashiering
This position requires front line customer services staff to provide information and to sell lift and snow sports passes, ski and snowboard equipment hire, retail and leisure centre products.
We are looking for well-presented, self-motivated people who have previous cash handling experience and who are able to accurately balance all transactions including cash and credit cards. This position requires excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to work well under pressure. Experience in sales is an advantage, and demonstrated up-selling skills will be well regarded.
Employment Period: late June to mid September

Retail Staff
We require dynamic retail staff who have a comprehensive knowledge of all areas of retail including clothing, technical eyewear and accessories, to assist in one of our two fast paced retail and hire outlets.
We are looking for well-presented people with previous retail experience in high turnover businesses. You will need to possess excellent communication and customer service skills and continually strive to exceed our guest expectations. Retail staff are also responsible for hire equipment cashiering, which is a large part of the job. Proven sales results and up-selling skills are highly regarded.

Rental Staff
Rental staff are responsible for fitting and issuing ski and board hire equipment and clothing to our customers. They play a key role in making sure our guests have an exceptional experience and come back time and time again.
Staff are responsible for ensuring that guests have complete rental forms accurately, find the proper boot fit for each customer, recommend suitable ski/board lengths and binding settings and assist with the maintenance of equipment.
Rental staff should have a fun-loving and outgoing nature, and have strong customer service skills. You must also be well-presented, reliable and work well in a team. Training will be provided on boot fitting and ski and board binding adjustment as well as other aspects of the rental department.

Sales Staff (Technical)
We require Technical Sales Staff to work in our High Performance Demo Shop. Staff will be required to make adjustments to equipment and to sell skis, snowboards, boots and clothing.
Technical Sales Staff are required to have good product knowledge of all snow sports equipment, excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with high-end users and potential purchasers. Staff must be self-motivated, excellent communicators and have a strong guest focus. They will also be passionate and knowledgeable about skiing, snowboarding and other outdoor sports.

Fitness Instructor/Pool Lifeguard
Thredbo Leisure Centre is a multi - purpose pool, gymnasium and training facility available to the general public all year. During winter the opening hours are 8am to 7.30pm.
If you have a Cert III or IV in Fitness, have a current pool lifeguard qualification, and a Senior First Aid Certificate, we have positions vacant over winter at our Leisure Centre. You will also be expected to assist in maintaining all equipment, assist with the centre’s cleanliness and carry out pool testing. Training will be provided.
Customer service experience is required and cash handling experience would be an advantage.
Employment period: late June to late September (with potential for year-round employment)

Child Care Staff
Thredbo Child Care Centre provides care for our guests’ non-skiing children aged between 6 months and up to 5 years. Positions exist for trained and untrained staff who are prepared to assist in all aspects of caring for children in a medium sized occasional care centre. This is a 5 day per week position rostered over 7 days.
Applicants must have had experience in caring for children particularly between the ages of 6mths to 3yrs, preferably in a child care facility. You will need to be fit, healthy and reliable to keep up with this age group.
All employees working with children must complete a NSW Working with Children Check.

Lift Attendants
This is a role best suited to fit, healthy, outdoor-type people who are interested in making sure our snow sports enthusiasts are loaded onto our lifts in a safe and efficient manner.
Training will be provided in the operation of Thredbo’s various lifts with further duties including ticket checking, crowd control and general environmental housekeeping. As you will be constantly conversing with and assisting guests, awareness of good customer service is important.
Working as a lift attendant can be strenuous at times so applicants must be aware that physical exertion is a daily occurrence, particularly during busy periods. Pre season fitness should include muscle groups in the shoulders, arms and lower back.
Minimum age 18yrs.
Employment period: commitment from late June to mid/late September (depending on runs open)

Snow Groomers
Snow grooming operators smooth out, shape and maintain all ski runs and T-bar tracks driving Kassbohrer grooming machines. This position is generally a night time shift job during the hours of 4pm and 8am operating these large machines sometimes in difficult weather conditions. Some additional day time work may be required from time to time. Previous experience as a snow groomer is desirable. As a minimum a truck licence is required and mechanical knowledge is an advantage.

Snowmaking Controller
This position would suit a person who has previous snowmaking experience and who is computer savvy. A machinery interest or background would be an advantage to understand the pump house and how it operates. Snowmakers generally work from 4pm to around 9am, however, if temperatures permit, some day time work may be required.
The ability to work in a small team and co-exist in that team is important.
Period of Employment: Early June to early-September
Hours: 152 per 4 wk period

Bus Drivers
Thredbo operates the village courtesy bus service that has a fleet of Mercedes 45 and Toyota buses. Our courtesy bus drivers pick up and set down guests around the resort from the designated bus stops.
An MR class driver’s licence and a Driver Authority are required. Previous bus driving experience is essential and you will be required to drive in snow and ice conditions. A friendly, outgoing and patient nature is necessary for this job.

Waste Collectors
Enthusiastic, reliable and fit waste collectors are required to work outdoors collecting and processing Thredbo’s waste. This role requires working outdoors in wet and cold conditions, as well as nice sunny days, and some heavy lifting is required. A current MR class driver’s licence is an advantage.

Village Workers
The main duties of our village workers include the collecting of recycling, car parking, snow clearing, minor infrastructure repairs, general labouring and keeping the village in a well presented state. This position requires a person who is physically fit, as manual handling is part of this role. A current car licence is essential and you must be reliable, have good customer service skills and be willing to work outdoors, sometimes in wet and cold conditions.

Room Attendants / Cleaners
Our room attendants have the responsibility of attending to all aspects of cleaning hotel rooms and self-contained apartments to a 4 star level. As you will meet guests from time to time in corridors or rooms a friendly and courteous disposition is required. All staff must wear their uniform and maintain a neat and tidy appearance at all times.
Ideal candidates will be hard-working, motivated and physically fit. In addition you will also possess excellent communication and organisational skills. Hours may vary and this will enable you to take advantage of the snow to ski or board.
Summer work is also available if you are considering staying in the area for a longer ‘mountain change’

Chefs – Demi/Commis/Speciality Pastry
Our central kitchen requires chefs to provide a culinary experience for our a’la carte restaurants, including the Award Winning Cascades Restaurant, for conferences and for one of our two bistros.

Food & Beverage Staff
NSW Law requires that people who serve alcohol must have a NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA).
Knowledge of safe food handling practices is essential.
Food and Beverage professionals are required to work in one of the many bars and restaurants throughout the Thredbo Alpine Hotel, including the Award Winning Cascades Restaurant.
Positions include a’la carte waiting, conference and bistro service as well as bar attendants for the 4 bars in the Hotel including The Pub, Schuss Bar which is the aprčs & live music bar, the Lounge Bar and the late night venue - the Keller Bar.
Enthusiastic, well-presented people with a strong focus on customer service and previous experience with references should apply. In the busy winter season you must be flexible, be able to work in a fast paced environment and have good communication skills.
NSW RSA Certificate essential and must be presented prior to starting work.
RCG and Food Handlers Certification is an advantage for all staff.
RCG certification is essential for staff employed in the Pub Bar & Bistro.

Bistro & Bar Manager
An experienced person is required to manage our busy winter food & beverage operation at Friday Flat, the base area for our snow sports school and children’s programs. Previous experience in a team leader role is required as well as strong customer service skills with a focus on staff management and training. Experience in cost of sales, high service standards and food quality is also required. NSW RSA and Food Handlers certificate essential.
This position reports to the F&B Manager and requires a commitment from mid-May to early October (or earlier depending when Friday Flat closes for the season).

Cook/kitchen staff (Thredboland)
Thredboland is our skiing program for the 3 to 6 year olds and we provide meals for up to 300 children per day during busy periods. Kitchen Staff will be required to plan, order and prepare lunch and snacks taking into consideration many dietary requirements.
This is a 5 day per week position. Certification in safe food handling required. Must adhere to all OHS requirements.

Stores Attendants
Stores Attendants report to the Stores Supervisor and are required to have previous experience in beer reticulation. Duties include receipt and issuing of all goods into and out of the stores area, including delivery of goods to outlets, record keeping and strict adherence to Stores Department and Hotel policies and procedures.
Some heavy lifting may be required. Food Handlers certification, forklift and driver’s licences are essential. RSA Certificate an advantage.
