Seasonal children's programs

Thredbo offers a range of season long programs in skiing, snowboarding, racing and freeriding for children from three years and older. Whether your child is a snow regular or you are new to the snow there is a seasonal program to suit your family. 

You can partner up your program with either a year round platinum pass, winter only season pass or, new for 2011, there is a ten day option for the Kangaroos program. Also new for this season is the program payment plan available where you can split the cost across four installments during the season.

Wombats 3- 6 years old skiers
This is a great program for young local snow kids. Whether they are never evers or have a few seasons under the boards, they will love the Wombats program.
This group gets extra attention from the specialised indoor and outdoor team and each week they generally ride with the same friends and have the same instructor, most importantly they have plenty of fun.

Time: 9am - 4pm

Dates: any 10 Sundays from June 26th – September 11th
Cost:  $630 Prior 31st May
          $670 from 1st June

Kangaroos - 7-14 years skiers, freeriders and snowboarders
This program is for kids new to the snow or those wanting to improve on what they already know. This is all about social and snow, it is the same weekly group with the same instructor. It’s for children who want to mix it up and develop their all mountain skills – including riding with confidence in all types of conditions, taking a run through the gates on the race course and learning and improving in the terrain parks.

Development Squad- 7 to teens
This is an intensive high-end program for children who want to focus on developing and progressing their skiing or snowboarding skills.  The program aims to strengthen free skiing and riding skills, enhance technical knowledge, fine tune race techniques and gain strength and confidence in all areas and conditions.  While this program still provides a fun, social environment, participants will learn to work harder to improve and achieve their goals.

Ages: 7 to teens
Level: minimum level 6
Time: 8.30am- 3pm
When: kicks off June 26th with programs ranging from 12-34 days available.

What’s Included:
·    Up to 6 hours of skill development and coaching per day
·    Indoor fitness ane agility sessions at the Thredbo Leisure centre
·    Hot lunch
·    Race day and end of season party and school holiday race.

Development Squad Teams - 7 to teens

Alpine Team – 7 years to teens
This is the team for a child who is focused on improving and enhancing their skills and technique. It is all about time on the mountain.
Program aim:

·    Refine the children’s skills across the whole mountain.
·    Refine race technique
·    Confidently ski moguls
·    Enhance skier cross technique
·    Strengthen free-skiing

Freeride Team – 10 years +
This program is for those who want to spend more time in the park and explore the natural terrain features. 
Program aim:

·    Developing skills that can be taken into the park or used on other terrain features.
·    Enhance all round riding skills.
·    Work on new tricks
·    Session on the Mother Bagjump

Snowboard Team 7 years +
The Snowboard Team is for those who want to enhance the fundamental skills of riding including park and all mountain.
Program aim:

·    Develop and refine skills in all facets of snowboarding
·    Skill development in the terrain park
·    Learn tricks to prepare for competition if required
·    Rider-cross skills
·    Freeriding
