Scoring: The event will be scored using the Overall Impression judging system based on the following 2 criteria:
· Difficulty - The technical nature of the tricks performed and
the composition of the run as a whole.
· Execution - The style of the tricks performed and the overall
position of the trick (Deductions will be taken for falls and
stops and missed landings).
Each section will be scored out of 5 and then both sections combined for a run score out of 10. Best run counts!
Presentations: Presentations will take place after the completion of the event.

There is the possibility of 3 runs, depending on weather, numbers and time allocated. This will be confirmed prior or on the day of the event!Top 3 places will be awarded in each category from the competitors best run. The event will be judged and scored using the overall impression judging system based on the following 2 criteria:
· Difficulty – The technical nature of the tricks performed and the composition of the run as a whole. Whether the competitor used both left/right/frontside/backside spins and/or regular/switch take-offs and landings.
· Execution - The style of the tricks performed and how well it was executed and how well the competitor completes his or her whole run. (Deductions will be taken for falls, reverts, stops and missed landings).
The course will consist of a series of rails and jumps, where the competitor will be judged and given a score for the whole run. There will be two runs, with the best run counting towards places.
Presentations: Presentations will take place after the completion of the event.

The 2011 Rip Curl FreeRide Pro and Throwdown events are presented by Nature Valley with major partner XXXX Summer Bright Lager and media partners Banzai (Yahoo!7), Mountainwatch.com, Transfer & Chill Factor magazines. Running for the fifth consecutive year at Thredbo’s famed slopes on August 16, this is a unique, top class, ski and board freeride event with a course making use of some of Australia's best terrain, featuring a mix of natural and man made features. Remaining true to the essence of free riding, athletes will be able to choose their own line, utilising the natural and enhanced features to their full, unique potential...it's gonna be tough again this year...

Competitor Brief: at 8.45am (At the top of the course)
Course Inspections: 8:45am - 9:30am (No riding on landings, competitors to slip around hit - TBC at Competitor Brief)
Competitors Run Order: TBC - Top 3 places will be awarded in each category from the competitors best run

· Execution - The style of the tricks performed and how well it was executed and how well the competitor completes his or her whole run. (Deductions will be taken for falls, reverts, stops and missed landings).
· Line – The technicality of the line chosen by the competitor. How difficult it is to ski or board the line using all the natural and man-made features incorporating difficulty and execution.
The course will consist of natural and man-made features, where the competitor will be judged and given a score for the whole run using the impression judging system.
Presentations: Presentations will take place after the completion of the event.

ALL COMPETITORS/SPECTATORS PLEASE NOTE:
· In the event of bad weather, the competition may be postponed to a later date. We will send out SMS and emails to all competitors that have provided us with these contact details. If you haven’t provided these details, please email them to smadmin@thredbo.com.au.
· Presentation will be held around one of the features on the course, generally around where the PA System is set-up. The “Mother Energy Drink” podium will also be set-up. This will be 20-30 minutes after the competition has ended, once all the points have been tallied up.
· Competitors are reminded to hand there bibs back in after their final run at the end of the course.
· Competitors are reminded to keep the course clear and clean at all times, there are fences put up for a reason and rubbish bins are placed around the course. Competitors, Spectators and Media Personal are reminded to keep well clear of the course at all times (due to safety reasons).
