How do I enter?
Easy. Download and print an entry form here and return to a Thredbo ticket office in either Nuggets Crossing Jindabyne or Friday Flat or Valley Terminal in Thredbo. Or fax your form to (02) 6459 4101.
Your entry form must be received prior to 5pm on the day before the event. Entries received after this time or on the day of the event will be subject to a surcharge. NO entries will be accepted after 9am on the day of the event. We encourage all competitors to register before the day of the event so that the events can start on time.
How much is it to enter?
- Rails 6 June, Rails 27 June, Big Air 7 July, Skiercross/Boardercross, Slopestyle $40 per event
- Rip Curl Australian Freeride Pro $75 open, $50 junior
- All six events $185 open, $160 junior
Where do I collect my bib on the day?
For each event, competitors bibs are to be collected from the Valley Terminal Ticket Office from 8am on the day of the event until 30 minutes before practice commences.
How much is a competitors lift pass?
Discounted lift passes are available for competitors for $60 for adults aged 15 years and over and $30 for children aged 12 - 14 years. Competitors must have paid the event entry fee to be eligible for a discounted lift pass.
Are there discounted lift passes for competitors’ coaches, family, friends or spectators?
Discounted lift passes are only offered to competitors. Spectators will need to hold a valid lift pass to gain access to the events held on the mountain.

Where can I view the competition results?

Can I have my entry fee refunded?
A refund of entry fee monies will be issued at the discretion of the Event Coordinator. If you have paid upfront and have a legitimate reason as to why you can not compete i.e an injury, a refund may be issued on any unused component of the entry fee.
How do the series points work?
Competitors will be awarded points for each event participated in. The number of points awarded is based on the placing in each event.
How do I register for the Freeride Series Grand Final?
Entry to the Grand Final is by invitation only. Only the series leaders of each division will be invited to compete in the Grand Final. Competitors who are invited to compete will be notified at the end of the Slopestyle event on Tuesday 25 August 2009, or if not present at this event will be contacted by phone and/or email.
Will I be notified in case an event is postponed or cancelled?
Unless the entrant specifies otherwise, entrants to the Thredbo Freeride Series will be signed up to receive SMS updates in case of any changes to the event such as a change of location, start time or if it is postponed or cancelled. Also keep an eye on the Thredbo Freeride Series website on the morning of the event as this is updated regularly with the latest event information.
How much prize money is there to be won?
There’s $50,000 of cash and prizes to be won throughout the series including loads of cash, a supply of Red Bull and flights in the Red Bull stunt plane.
Please note, the advertised prize money may be revised depending on competitor numbers in each division at each event i.e if only one or two competitors have registered in a division, the prize money awarded may be revised and this is at the discretion of the event coordinator.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
Helmets are not compulsory but are strongly recommended for each event.
