Join us at the 4 Pines Truck Bar in Brookvale to get immersed in all things backcountry. To celebrate the launch of winter and the return of Thredbo Backcountry Tours supported by The North Face, we’re hosting a backcountry info night with The North Face, featuring storytelling from Tess Coady and Tim Macartney-Snape.
Learn about the backcountry basics and our tours on offer this winter from one of our experienced guides.
The night will also feature a screening of FACETS, a new snowboard film presented by The North Face that features its international women’s snowboard team. Watch as Leanne Pelosi, Jess Kimura, Marion Haerty, Mary Rand, and Amanda Hankison show off their unique look and killer style. This one is for the next generation of riders carving their own paths.
Our environmental partners at Keep It Cool will be selling raffle tickets, with proceeds going towards Keep It Cools rehabilitating the Snowy Mountains project. Buy a ticket to go into the draw to win a Thredbo Back Country Tour and more.
The night kicks off from 6:30pm with some light snacks provided. Spots are limited.

Tess Coady is a 20 year old professional snowboarder from Melbourne who is knocking down the door to next years Winter Olympics. Having just claimed a Bronze medal in slopestyle at the World Cup in Switzerland earlier this year, she is back on home soil training in Thredbo this winter, continuing her path towards Olympic glory. Tess oozes style and despite spending most of her time in the park, she plans to take advantage of the supreme back country conditions right on Thredbo’s doorstep.
Tim is well at home in the mountains. An Australian mountaineer, explorer, writer and entrepreneur, Tim was the first Australian to summit Everest alongside Greg Mortimer in 1984. While he’s climbed giants like Ama Dablam and Gasherbrum 4, Tim has also taken to exploration in the smaller ranges of the Australian landscapes. Having skied many runs in the main range – he’s still eager to explore more.
“Part of a snowy winter’s appeal is that it transforms the landscape into something wilder.”
