All courses are open to the public for riding the day prior to each race event. During official practice times and racing on the day of the event, only competitors will be allowed to ride the course.

Thredbo offers some of the most challenging gravity trails in Australia. All riders must be competent on this level of trail to compete in a racing format. Due to time constraints and the number of competitors entering the competition it is not possible for riders to be chaperoned for practice or competition.

Entries for the Australian MTB Interschools are limited and may close at any moment due to capacity reason.

Please stay tuned across our Thredbo Resort’s social channels and email newsletter for announcements.

Seeding for the All-Mountain race will be based off 2023 Interschools results. Those results will then determine seeding for the Flow start list on the following day. The Flow results will then determine seeding for the DH start list.

These results are calculated based off a points system. You can find a full breakdown of points in the Rules and Regulations.

Yes, you certainly can race as an individual. All students are asked to register online individually. During the registration process you will be asked for your school’s name. This will help with gaining points for the overall points system but is not essential to taking part in the competition.

All competitors must have an AusCycling Race Membership or purchase an event licence which is valid on the day of the event.

The Australian MTB Interschools is also conducted under the guidelines provided in the AusCycling Member Protection Policy.

It is highly recommended to secure the yearly membership if you are considering competing in all Interschools events. This license covers you at all cycling events around the country.

We have a fully operational workshop at Valley Terminal. Qualified mechanics are on hand specializing in pre-race suspension setup and everything you need to ensure your bike is race ready.

There will be limited public chairlift access across the Interschools event dates. All trail closures can be found here!

Unfortunately, we are unable to run the cross-country event this season. Due to a number of factors including civil works, scheduling & a restructure of both our gravity & XC trail network, we are unable to provide a suitable and safe cross-country course for the Australian MTB Interschools.

All volunteer information can be found here.

Australian Mountain Biking Interschools will fall under the Thredbo Cancellation Policy. If a competitor injuries themselves prior to competing they are entitle to a refund minus a $20 cancellation fee once a valid doctors certificate has been presented.
