This is one of the most aesthetic walks in the area and a lovely half day option for families or those who don’t want to commit to a full day outing. It’s a photographers dream with beautiful textures in the twisted old snow gums, an array of unique flora and a variety of diverse and stunning landscapes. The Dead Horse Gap walk offers a taste of the alpine, sub alpine and montane environments all the way down to the Thredbo River valley floor.

Your guide will regale you with historical anecdotes, fun facts and interpretive information. You return walk is along the gentle sound and cool breezes of the Thredbo River. As most of this walk is downhill, The Dead Horse Gap walk is a great option to get warmed up in the area.
