New for 2017/18, this hike is the longest and most physically demanding but the guests are rewarded exponentially with remote views, no crowds and a truly spectacular experience. The route takes you out past Mount Kosciuszko onto the Main Range Track, where you veer off onto a single track foot path that winds up to Australia’s second highest peak. Mount Townsend is only 19m lower at 2209m but most would say more spectacular in its entirety. After some exploration, guests will head out through Alice Rawson peak to look down on Lake Albina and the Western Faces of the Main Range.
This hike is very weather dependent due to the navigational needs and exposure to the elements.
