Water, Waste & Recycling
Thredbo is responsible for waste management and recycling. In order to keep Thredbo and its surrounding environment as pristine as possible, please check the below maps and guidelines for everything you need to know to keep Thredbo clean.
Collections start at 6.30 am so please ensure your waste is in the enclosure the night before your collection day.
Please understand that the Environmental Department is also responsible for snow clearing and during extreme weather events there may be a collection delay.
General waste should be secured in plastic waste bags weighing no more than 10 kg.
It is the property owners’ responsibility to keep the waste enclosure in a clean and serviceable state.
Kosciuszko Thredbo recycles metal, glass and plastic containers as well as paper and cardboard.

Please supply your own general waste bags
Disposal of hard waste (e.g. broken beds, skis, televisions, fridges etc.) is the responsibility of individual property owners. All hard waste should be removed from Kosciuszko National Park and disposed of in an appropriate manner at the owner’s expense.

Water Supply & Sewerage Services
Kosciuszko Thredbo is responsible for water supply and the draining away of sewage from property boundaries within Thredbo village.

Kosciuszko Thredbo is not responsible for water services or sewerage services within privately owned properties.
If you have a problem with the water supply or sewer within your holiday rental property please contact your property manager or booking agent.
In order to ensure the high quality of the water supplied to you we regularly send it for testing at NSW government recognised health laboratories.
At the other end of the system we also monitor the quality of the water we are putting back into the environment, regularly sending if for sampling at EPA recognised health laboratories. Our results show we consistently outperform our environmental requirements.
