The massive moment has arrived – the new Merritts Gondola is now spinning! Check out the video above for a snapshot of this huge achievement’s construction from start to finish.

Australia’s only alpine Gondola was officially launched with a ribbon cutting on Saturday the 22nd of June by Tourism and Snowy Mountains dignitaries. Quickly becoming one of the Thredbo’s favorite attractions, this milestone moment sees years of planning and development coming together to deliver even more to passionate snow enthusiasts.

With a 6 minute travel time from Thredbo Village to the Cruiser area and Merritts Mountain House, heading up the mountain in the comfortable European cabins is a snap. Once at the top Crusier area’s big variety of terrain is at your glove tips. Better yet the new Merritts Gondola Mid Station means that hot laps on Dream Runs awesome intermediate and advanced tree runs is easier than ever.

Merritts Mountain House has got foot passengers, skiers and boarders hopping off the Gondola covered with a selection of European dishes, schnapps and beer steins to keep the winter vibes going.

Take a ride up and enjoy some of the best views and vibes in the Snowy Mountains!
