Every year Thredbo Parks’ soldiers don the overalls and prepare our fleet of features to ready them for battle. After a winter of use and a summer of storage, the features are pretty beat up… some serious TLC is required! Rust is removed, welds repaired, panels replaced and fresh coats of paint applied.
Family Fun 101: LEGO Friends Snow Festival
Calling all LEGO®-lovers and their families: Thredbo is the place to be this school holidays as the new LEGO Friends Snow Resort buddies come and make Thredbo their home for the LEGO Friends Snow Festival, July 1 – 15 2017. Kids of ALL ages can get excited for 2 weeks jam-packed full of FREE activities for a school holidays like no other.
The Weather Guy – There’s snow in sight!
A series of fronts are due to move over southeastern Australia over the weekend, with snow showers expected to develop over the higher peaks late on Saturday evening and into Sunday. At first, snow flurries should fall to around 1600m in gusty northwesterly breezes before winds swing west/southwesterly and colder air moves in on Monday morning.

The Art of Snowmaking
Snowmaking has been around for a while. The first snowmaker was developed in the 50’s from a garden hose, a 10 horsepower compressor and a spray-gun nozzle. For Thredbo, the art of snowmaking arrived in 1987, the same year the first mobile phone call was made in Australia.

Thredbo Parks: Getting the Band Back Together
Winter 2017 is set to kick off with a bang this weekend. Thanks to natural snowfall and great snowmaking conditions we will be sliding on Saturday, the official opening day for Threbdo Resort. On top of that Thredbo Parks is stoked to announce that we will have a Terrain Park on offer… a beginner box line and an intermediate tube line. What a treat, terrain park action on day one of the season!
