Stormin’ Norman…thank you! Over the past 5 days we’ve received 85cm of fresh snow and skiers and boarders were ecstatic over the great early season conditions on offer.
Mountain Update: Best Opening Conditions in Years…
Conditions in June have never looked better and we’re hopeful to have the Supertrail (from the top of Kosciuszko Express chair) and Antons T-Bar open for skiing and snowboarding from Saturday onwards, with more snowmaking planned across the week.
Opening Day: Fresh First Turns for Winter!
Day one went off with a bang! The mega storm “Stormin Norman” delivered another 15cm overnight, bringing the total accumulation so far to 50cm…best news is, it’s still dumping!

“Stormin Norman” has now hit the mountain with strong blizzard conditions and has brought along with it some fresh snow with lots more in the forecast…some experts are claiming a potenital 50cm across the weekend…ohhh yeah!
Thredbo Weather Update, June 12
Snow is on the way this week, with a series of cold fronts due to hit the mountains from Tuesday. The first front will bring isolated showers developing into snow later as temps drop.

On Wednesday night, Thredbo and The North Face hosted a Backcountry Information night to provide a further understanding of what’s being offered this winter and to answer any questions anyone had in regards to the Backcountry Tours and Backcountry Touring in general.

It’s go time baby! Our snowmaking team are working around the clock, looking for the perfect weather opportunities to start making snow. The team has their eye out for high pressure systems as the winds are generally light, humidity is low and it tends to bring on colder nights, coupled with large stable highs that move across the continent slower…it offers great conditions to start pumping the snow guns.
