Intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders can enjoy Australia’s longest runs and the wide variety of terrain on offer.

Mountain Safety
Your safety is Thredbo’s number one priority. It is our goal for each day here at Thredbo to be a positive and safe experience for everyone on the mountain. When you’re on the mountain, keep an eye out for our Ski Patrol in winter and Bike Patrol in summer who are on hand to attend to any incidents. 02 6459 4147
Drone Policy
To maximise safety for guests, employees, and resort property, Kosciuszko Thredbo Pty Ltd prohibits the unauthorised operation or use of any remotely piloted aircraft or any form of aerial drones within our leasehold area. This includes recreational users and unauthorised commercial users – prohibiting drone use unless approved by Kosciuszko Thredbo Pty Ltd.
Terrain Parks
Thredbo boasts a variety of terrain parks to cater to every type of skiing and snowboarding ability. From beginners to advanced, there are a huge fleet of features including jumps and rails that everyone can enjoy and progress their skills on.
Tobogganing & Snow Play
The safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff is always our number one priority. This winter, as per previous winter seasons and due to the terrain in Thredbo, the resort does not have a dedicated, safe snow play, tobogganing, tubing or sledding area. Tobogganing is strictly prohibited in Thredbo Resort.
Beginner Areas
Friday Flat is Thredbo’s specifically designed area for beginners. The slope is gentle, the lifts are easy to use and all lessons meet here. It’s the perfect location for your first on snow experience. Thredbo’s yellow and green runs are specifically designed to for beginners to progress and enjoy their first time skiing or snowboarding.
Intermediates
Around 65% of Thredbo is suited to intermediates. With long and wide tree lined runs all over the mountain it’s the perfect place to cruise. The Cruiser, Basin and Central Spur areas are ideal intermediate locations. Thredbo’s blue and black runs offer intermediate skiers and snowboarders a wide variety of terrain and pitch to enjoy and progress.
Advanced
Experienced riders rate Thredbo’s terrain as the best in the country. With the longest runs, massive fall line, natural wind lips, powder bowls and hectares of off-piste and backcountry terrain it’s easy to see why. Thredbo’s black runs and off-piste options are perfect for advanced skiers and snowboarders, offering challenging terrain and endless natural feature options.
MTB Trail Map
Thredbo Mountain Bike Park is home to some of the best alpine riding in the country. There’s chairlift accessed gravity trails, skills parks for all ages, a linked network of cross country trails, a fast flowing pump track and a team of qualified guides to take your riding to the next level.
Hiking Trail Map
Experience the natural beauty of Australia’s highest mountains in summer as you walk and hike some incredible alpine trails. Whether it’s a family friendly hike to the top of Mt Kosciuszko or an advanced day hike across the Australian Main Range, there’s something for every age and ability to enjoy. With glacial lakes, unique flora and fauna and mountains as far as the eye can see, it’s a must do whilst visiting Thredbo throughout summer.
