Avalanche Skills Training AST1 | New in 2022
After this 2 day internationally recognised course, you will develop essential skills and knowledge to make decisions and stay safe in the backcountry.

Snowshoe Tours
Walk across the snow and into the big white yonder as you are guided to some interesting features and landmarks in Australia’s winter wonderland. Along the way, our knowledgeable guides will inform you about our rich ski history, fragile ecosystem and the indigenous heritage of the region.

Women's Tours
Thredbo Backcountry Tours are proud to provide more women the opportunity to take on adventures beyond the resort boundaries. These all-girls tours are led by females guides and are a great way to connect with like-minded women.

Backcountry & Snowshoe Rental
Explore the Main Range with our Backcountry Rental packages (pick up Valley Terminal only). Choose from Vokl touring skis with Mohair skins, a Burton splitboard with Montana skins or Tubbs snowshoes (all packages include collapsible poles). This package is available for rent with a Thredbo Backcountry Tour or if you have prior backcountry experience.

Backcountry Access Pass

Backcountry Access Pass
If you’re heading out to the backcountry independently, this pass gives you one return trip on the Kosciuszko Chairlift.
Backcountry Access Passes are available for purchase in Thredbo at Guest Services Friday Flat or Valley Terminal.
Please remember to fill out the online Trip Intention Form with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service before heading out.
All Thredbo Backcountry Adventures conducted in Kosciuszko National Park are accredited with Ecotourism Australia at the Advanced Ecotourism level. This reinforces our commitment to using sustainable practices minimising climate change impacts from conducting these activities.
