Thank You Winter 2026

Posted on 16 Sep, 2026

What a winter! It was a tricky season, with conditions proving unpredictable from the start but as we wrap up our Winter 2026 Season, we wanted to take a moment to look back on everything our team, our guests and our mountain pulled off together, because this one deserves to be remembered for all the right reasons.

Friday Flat Leads The Way

June conditions were unfavourable right across the region, and Thredbo was no exception. The difference was our All-Weather Snowmaking Unit, which gave us the ability to adapt to those conditions where others simply couldn’t. It meant we could keep building our snow base and open a lift-accessed skiing product on Friday Flat in June that would otherwise have been impossible, giving families reliable turns from the earliest weeks of the season.

A Season To Remember

Opening day on June 6 saw Friday Flat spinning, with families enjoying first turns from the very first weekend. From there, the season delivered one of Thredbo’s fullest calendars yet, with over 150+ events across the season.

Highlights included the Snow Australia Adaptive Festival, a milestone step for the para pathway, and Thredbo turning pink in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia.

Project Shred saw the next generation of young skiers and riders coached by Olympic champions in a custom terrain park at Friday Flat, while our Mountain Operations and Snowmaking teams worked around the clock to keep opening new terrain all season long.

We also marked a major sustainability milestone, achieving EarthCheck Platinum status and becoming the first destination in the Asia-Pacific region to reach that benchmark, timed perfectly with our annual Environment Week.

On snow, the season featured the Junior Mogul Series, the Stomping Grounds training camp for the world’s best athletes, and the move of the popular First Tracks Club Alpine Experience to the Cruiser Area.

Our events calendar rolled on with an unforgettable Battle On The Bluff freeride competition, the first two stops of the Thredbo Triple Crown, and the always-vibrant Rainbow Mountain Pride Festival. Even as conditions turned tougher later in the season, our Mountain Operations team’s determination ensured the ANC Big Air and Slopestyle competitions went ahead for riders chasing FIS points.

Off the slopes, the village came alive with a back-to-back après season, with a curated lineup of music artists performing throughout the winter, highlighted by a first-of-its-kind drone show to open the Range Rover Residency. The season also served up standout dining experiences across the mountain, including the St Hugo Kareela Snowcat Dinners, rounding out a winter we’re proud of.

Thank YOU!

To everyone who skied, rode, danced, dined and celebrated with us this winter, thank you. And to our team who worked tirelessly through everything this tricky season threw our way, we couldn’t have done it without you.
