The Thredbo Mountain Park features over 40kms of graded downhill and cross-country trails for the whole family.
New this summer, the little shredders get the opportunity to ride the MTB Park with lift passes now available to riders aged 5 years & over.
Head up Australia’s only alpine gondola to access the new beginner-intermediate trails in the Cruiser area.
Easy Rider, Sidewinder & Grasshopper are the perfect place for the groms to find their feet and get comfortable with gravity riding.
To navigate the park with confidence, we recommend that you follow the trail progression map which starts small and builds up to more complex trails.
Staying safe starts with having the right gear and bike, understanding the trail rating system, nailing the beginner trails before progressing and more.
A great family ride with many options ranging from the beginner grade section from Thredbo to Rangers Station, through to a challenging full day ride all the way to Jindabyne.
Pick up a trail map and choose on one of the 20 family-friendly hikes starting from Thredbo.
Take the kids to the top of Australia and summit Mount Kosciuszko (2,228m) this summer. The majority of the walk is on a raised walkway, making it easier for the young ones and for carrying infants in carriers.
You also have the shorter option to walk just to Kosciuszko Lookout which is 1-2 hours return from the top of the chairlift.
After taking on Mt Kosciuszko, some of other favourite walks for the whole family are:
- Merritts Nature Track – all downhill with stunning scenery
- Riverside – Golf Course Walk – weaves along Thredbo River
- Dead Horse Gap – one of the best, most accessible hikes in the region!
Educate the kids on the surrounding natural landscape and book a hike with one of our experienced, knowledgeable guides.
Beyond mountain biking and hiking, there is plenty of action from November to April.
We recommend grabbing the all-inclusive Summer Adventure Pass for a guaranteed good time.
For a fun activity for the whole family enjoy a ride on Thredbo’s Alpine Bobsled. The 700m bobsled twists and turns its way down the mountain whilst you control the speed with a brake on your sled.
Located just a 5-minute walk from Thredbo Village Square, the Thredbo Leisure Centre offers a wide range of activities for everyone to enjoy. With a waterslide, Mission Inflatable, a heated pool, table tennis, trampoline sessions, an indoor sports hall, a bouldering wall, a squash court and a weights gym, Thredbo Leisure Centre is jam-packed with fun for kids and adults alike.
We have two tennis courts available for a fun game with family and friends during your stay.
In the Village Green, the Thredbo Skate Park and Pump Track provide a great area for the little ones to burn some energy. Combine that with a couple of trampolines, a playground and a large grass area with BBQ’s and it’s the ideal place for a family picnic.
Featuring a specially curated line-up of family-friendly activities including movie and pizza nights, scavenger hunts and loads more.
Located within walking distance from the base of the mountain, Thredbo’s European-style village offers a great range of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops.
With cosy bars, late night spots and dining options ranging from à la carte, càfe style, casual bistro, tapas, BBQ or grab and go, you’re sure to find your favourite.

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
