Mountain Biking With Kids

The Thredbo Mountain Park features over 40kms of graded downhill and cross-country trails for the whole family.

The little shredders get the opportunity to ride the MTB Park with lift passes now available to riders aged 5 years & over.

Beginners Head To Cruiser Area

Head up Australia’s only alpine gondola to access the new beginner-intermediate trails in the Cruiser area.

Easy Rider, Sidewinder & Grasshopper are the perfect place for the groms to find their feet and get comfortable with gravity riding.

MTB Park Trail Progression

To navigate the park with confidence, we recommend that you follow the trail progression map which starts small and builds up to more complex trails.

Safety First & Beginner Guide

Staying safe starts with having the right gear and bike, understanding the trail rating system, nailing the beginner trails before progressing and more.

Thredbo Valley Track

A great family ride with many options ranging from the beginner grade section from Thredbo to Rangers Station, through to a challenging full day ride all the way to Jindabyne.

Pick up a trail map and choose on one of the 20 family-friendly hikes starting from Thredbo.

Mt Kosciuszko Summit

Take the kids to the top of Australia and summit Mount Kosciuszko (2,228m) this summer. The majority of the walk is on a raised walkway, making it easier for the young ones and for carrying infants in carriers.

You also have the shorter option to walk just to Kosciuszko Lookout which is 1-2 hours return from the top of the chairlift.

Choose Your Own Adventure

After taking on Mt Kosciuszko, some of other favourite walks for the whole family are:

  • Merritts Nature Track – all downhill with stunning scenery
  • Riverside – Golf Course Walk – weaves along Thredbo River
  • Dead Horse Gap – one of the best, most accessible hikes in the region!

Book A Guide

Educate the kids on the surrounding natural landscape and book a hike with one of our experienced, knowledgeable guides.

Guided hikes will return 16 November 2024.
