Environment Week
Monday 7 - Friday 11 Jul, 2025
Environment week is dedicated to driving awareness with our guests, community and beyond about our environmental initiatives and what we can all be doing as a community to become more environmentally sustainable!
Do your part this Environment Week and buy a tree online or in-resort to offset your trip to the snow. Better yet, during Thredbo Environment Week we’ll match your donation tree for tree! During the week, we highlight and raise awareness about Thredbo’s environmental initiatives and how we can work towards a more sustainable future, today.
Environment Week Initiatives

Science in the Snow
Join us in the Schuss Bar on Monday 7 July as we kick of Enviro Week with an informative evening featuring a host of academics. With prizes and giveaways, plus a free drink on arrival, this is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the environmental impacts effecting our area.

Alpine Snow Gums Tree Ski
Ever wondered how the snow gums get their beautiful colour? Join a guided tour of Thredbo’s ecosystems and important habitats, focusing on the trees that grow in and around our trails.
Experts from National Parks and Wildlife Service and Australian National University will be sharing knowledge and education on the important role that the natural environment plays in Thredbo and Kosciuszko National Park.
The tour will be catered to a intermediate level and is suitable for both skiers and snowboarders.

Burton x Thredbo Pass Along Program
To celebrate Thredbo Environment Week, we’re bringing the Burton Pass Along program to Australia for a limited time.
Pass Along is a sustainability concept promoted around the world encouraging customers to trade in used Burton gear in exchange for store credit, a great solution to keep clothing and gear in-use and out of the landfill for as long as possible.
It’s simple: You bring us your Burton gear and we’ll give you a credit toward new purchases. Offer valid from the 7-11 July.

Kids Enviro Flare Run
To celebrate our 100% renewable energy partnership with Red Energy, we’ll be building an interactive snow castle at Friday Flat for kids to grab a photo with before Family Flare Run.
We’ll also have our astronomy friends from the ANU, plus a display from the National Parks and Wildlife services on hand for kids to learn about the natural environment around them. Catch them outside Friday Flat Bistro from 3pm.

Transport NSW Snowy Mountains Bus Service
The Snowy Mountains Bus Service connects Jindabyne to Thredbo daily throughout the Winter season, allowing guests and staff to access Thredbo resort without needing to drive their cars.
The fewer cars on the roads lessens the likelihood of animal interactions and helps reduce the overall emissions associated with travel to Thredbo.
To say thanks to all those choosing community transport, we will be giving away a FREE coffee to one lucky bus of guests during Environment week.

Buy a Tree
Buy a tree and offset your trip to the snow this season! From 7 – 11 July during Thredbo Environment Week we’ll match your donation tree for tree!

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
