The Blizzard of Oz 2.0 meets Client Liaison, this week’s perfect pairing

There are some things that just go together: wine and cheese, rom-coms and chocolate and of course, the classic pairing that is fresh powder and apres parties. Thredbo played cupid to a match made in snowy heaven this week: 60cm was delivered by the Blizzard of Oz 2.0 from Wednesday through to Friday, as if mother nature knew it would be perfect timing for the Kosciuszko Pale Ale Poolside Après Party on Saturday evening.

Though the week started off with some less than ideal weather, we had faith in the forecast and knew that the Blizzard of Oz 2.0 was on it’s way…and come Thursday morning we woke to a winter wonderland, and Thredbo was filled with that same joy and excitement as was brought by the original Blizzard of Oz just 2 weeks ago.

Friday and Saturday in particular were up there with some of the best days all season, with the light, dry, fluffy fresh powder some of the best quality yet. Mountain riding was nothing but pure stoke with some off-piste riding so good you’d think you were in Japan…the Powder Bowl up at the Cruiser area was unreal for knee-deep fresh tracks, and the Central Spur area had beautiful on and off-piste riding.

But like I said before, this week was about the perfect pair, and just to add to the powder-fueled adrenaline high, a massive poolside party, headlined Client Liaison was the cherry on top of the decadent week. Things kicked off appropriately early (it’s never too early for apres) at 2pm with Scotty Sax from the Groove Academy getting those poolside dance vibes going, followed by DJ Salami who heated things up before Client Liaison made their highly anticipated appearance at 6pm.

In their 4th year at Thredbo and following a huge sold out national tour of their hugely successful first album, once again the Kings of Apres brought the RED-hot to ThREDbo and had the packed-out mosh pit pumping. These guys know how to apres, and with their awesome 90s pop-synth tunes and awesome retro attire, they reminded us of just why we all keep coming back to Thredbo after 60 years of apres party magic.
