Thredbo hopped in the Hot Dub Time Machine to Relive 60 Years of Stoke

Please excuse me if this sounds a little-out-of-this-world, but Thredbo has just stepped out of the Hot Dub time Machine, and what a ride it was. On Saturday July 29, Thredbo in partnership with Heineken hosted the biggest Village Concert yet and it was safe to say that the night was suitably LIT. We’ve had 60 awesome years of stoke here in Thredbo, much of which has been spent on the DF, so what better way to celebrate than to get Hot Dub Time Machine here to take us on a dance-party-musical-journey-extravaganza and re-boogie our way through the decades.

If you haven’t heard of Hot Dub Time Machine then it is safe to say you must be living in the dark ages, as DJ Tom Loud’s creation is a global phenomenon that has been hitting the stages of the hottest festivals and events, including Coachella, Glastonbury, Falls, and of course now – The THREDBO VILLAGE CONCERT SERIES (he’s biggest performance yet for sure). Supporting this amazing artist was the upcoming Sydney DJ pair Human Movement and the artist combination was going off like an 80’s bomber jacket on an apres dancefloor – literally.

The mosh was packed and the light show mind-blowing. The Time Lord starting up the Hot Dub Time Machine and it’s safe to say that once it was on, every person in that village square was transported to an out-of-body, time-warping dance party experience like no other, as we raved our way from the 50s all the way to the present day… just as we have been doing in Thredbo for the last 60 years, and shall endeavour to do for the next 60. Or at least until the end of the season… check out the rest of the raving line-up of events coming in hot and heavy in the coming weekends.

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
