The Weather Guy – Closing In On the End of the Season… But Who Would Know?

Posted on 20 Sep, 2017 in Weather Forecast

The end of the season is just around the corner and conditions on the mountain are amazing. There is plenty of snow to get us all the way to the last day of the season on October 2nd, with the chance of a whole lot more early next week.

Conditions on the mountain are amazing for this time of the year with great cover from top to bottom. It was only yesterday that snow flurries were falling right to the village which is incredible for this late in the season.

The next few days are looking like an awesome opportunity to make the most of these late season conditions, with a return of the spring that we know and love.

It’s a cracker of a day out there today with blue skies, light winds and no shortage of sunshine.

On Thursday, cloud will begin to build as a weakening cold front/trough approaches, but this system doesn’t look to bring much impact to the Snowy mountains apart from freshening winds.

Similarly, Friday looks to be a partly cloudy once again, but conditions should remain dry with plenty of opportunities to get out there and get some turns in.

A strong front and cut-off low looks to approach on Saturday with light isolated showers on the forecast, before temperatures cool off into Sunday with snowfalls becoming confined to the higher peaks.

The best chance of snow comes early next week as colder air moves in with the chance of some healthy snow falls.

There is still some variability between the models on the exact timing of the snowfalls, but keep an eye on our social channels for any updates to the forecast.
