Australia’s Most Iconic Downhill Race is Back…Fast Racing, Amazing Après & Champagne Showers

Who doesn’t like a bit of fast past racing action, pumping parties, all day après and champange showers! The iconic Thredbo Top to Bottom race presented by Mumm is back and taking over the resort across August the 10th-12th.

It’s the most anticipated weekend of the snow season with non-stop action on and off the mountain all weekend long…just watch the video and you’ll figure out why! Revelers and racers will love Australia’s longest downhill race, slope side champagne showers and the biggest après parties of the season.

On the mountain, the Top to Bottom race is Australia’s richest, fastest and longest downhill race for skiers and boarders and with over $25,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs it’s one of the most lucrative as well…definitely worth slipping into the lycra.

The race starts at the top of Thredbo, as the sun rises riders line up at the top of the 3.2 kilometre course with their skis and boards in hand. They then run in boots for a 100 metre dash before they strap and click in for a fast-paced blast to the bottom. This is where the battle begins as riders head to the village below, dropping 600 vertical metres navigating, gates, straights and other racers…it’s a must not miss morning.

The event draws over 300 competitors across eight categories, it starts at dawn with racing over before first lifts. This year past and present Olympians and racers are in the line-up including Pyeongchang silver medallist snowboarder Jarryd Hughes, last year’s winner Scott Kneller and young guns will all be competing.

The action really kicks off after the race, when après hits level 100 with G.H Mumm presenting their Red Sash Sets at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel. The Red Sash Sets is set to go off with Hayden James headlining the party, who’s coming in hot after a sold out US and Australian tour. Also playing is the king of house, Motez and Sweet Mix Kids, who will be sure to shake up the snowy mountains with their pumping electric tunes.
