July Kids Snow Festival
There’s something for everyone these school holidays, with a mountain of terrain to explore, a huge line up of free activities and plenty of après for Mum and Dad. The Kids Snow Festival is a favourite for kids of all ages with movie and pizza nights, special kids flare run, night skiing, loads of activities on and off the mountain plus lots more. There’s a dedicated children’s snow sports school that is recognised as one of the best in Australia – this school is really cool. Thredboland caters for kids aged 3-6 years and Freeriders for 7-14 year olds. Enjoy the dedicated team of instructors who specialise in teaching kids, so they will be up and going and beating you down the mountain in no time. It’s a fun, friendly and progressive learning environment!
One of the best things about Thredbo is that kids ski free! Yeah that’s right! When an adult purchases a Kids Ski Free 3 & 5 day pass, a child under the age of 18 receives one lift pass free of charge. *Valid dates 9-29 June and 3 September to season close. Every Thursday night throughout winter the Kids Flare Run will take place in Friday Flat. As the sun sets, the kids are loaded on to the Easy Does It Chairlift (no adults, kids are accompanied by snow sport instructors and the Thredboland animals) ready to descend the gentle slopes with their own twinkling, flashing flares while family and friends watch on in delight. A spectacular fireworks display will take place once all the kids have reached the bottom.
The Village
Thredbo is renowned for having a great village atmosphere that families can enjoy and that is why it is constantly voted number one for village fun. There are great mix of shops, eateries and conveniences right in the heart of town and some restaurants that offer special kids dining deals. It’s like jumping into a travel machine and ending up in the heart of a European styled resort…truly magical!
Thredbo Leisure Centre
If a day on the mountain is not enough, don’t worry! Make sure you pack the swimmers as families love the Thredbo Leisure Centre, with a heated pool, waterslide and a floating pool obstacle course plus there is a big sports hall for a family game of basketball. If skiing all day doesn’t tire the kids out…the Leisure Centre definitely will!
