Mountain Collective Update…It’s Deep!

Posted on 17 Jan, 2018

It’s been an amazing start to the Mountain Collective New Year and it’s shaping up to keep getting better! Japan and Canada have been graced with copious amounts of snowfall over the December holiday period and it’s still dumping…turning it on for all skiers and boarders who escaped the summer heat over the holidays.

North America started off with a slow start in comparison to last season…however with big snowfalls blanketing the resorts over the past couples weeks and strong storm systems in the forecast, it’s all systems go for Mountain Collective resorts! Checkout some of the highlights below.

Niseko, Japan

It has been an incredible start to the season for Niseko Resort located in Hokkaido, Japan. So far Niseko has received 975cm’s of snow to date…yes! That’s right…975cm since the start of the season and it’s only the middle of January. If there has ever been a time to hop on and plane and enjoy the iconic Japanese powder, it’s right now! The above video gives you an idea of current conditions…

Similarly on the South Island of Japan, Hakuba has received an insane amount of snow to kick off the New Year!  With a total snow depth of roughly 350cm to date and lots more in the extended forecast, it has been non-stop snow stoke for all skiers and boarders so far this season…and it’s just going to keep getting better and better!

Banff Sunshine, Canada

With a total base so far of just under 400cm…Canadian Mountain Collective resorts have been enjoying epic conditions this winter. Over the past few weeks it’s been a repeat of powder days followed by bluebird days to welcome in the New Year…boom!

Revelstoke, Canada

Revelstoke is having a season to remember…with a total snow depth of 639cm so far and lots more in the forecast, it’s powder heaven for all skiers and boarders with a hunger for steep and deep terrain. The video above paints a perfect picture of current conditions…

Mammoth Mountain, California

In comparison to last season, it’s been a slow start for Mammoth Mountain…however, do not fear! Over the past 2 weeks Mammoth has received a decent amount of snowfall, delivering fun pow days to welcome in the New Year! With more snow in the forecast for this week and next, Mammoth is back on track for an awesome season ahead!

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Jackson Hole is currently sitting on a total snow depth of 561cm and has already had some ‘for the books’ days this season. Earlier this week Jackson received just under 100cm’s in 4 days…making for some POWDERY conditions for skiers and boarders to enjoy.
