Snowy Ride 2018 | Amazing generosity and good vibes in the Snowies
Posted on 5 Nov, 2018
What an amazing weekend! Over 3,000 people were in Thredbo on Saturday for the 18th Annual Snowy Ride – a motorcycle event that runs annually to help raise funds for the Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation.
2,000 bike riders hit the long and windy roads of the Snowy Mountains to raise money for childhood cancer research programs and to support children with cancer. The ride itself coupled with the mass amount of riders involved, raises awareness on a larger scale each year towards the issue of childhood cancer and it’s side effects.
Everyone in attendance enjoyed an awesome BBQ to celebrate finishing the ride, plus a tonne of rockin’ live music in the village square, spreading even more good vibes among the crowd!
A huge thanks to Snowy Hydro who donated a whopping $100,000 and to Honda for also throwing in $100,000 plus $10,000 from Thredbo, with everything going towards the Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation.
It wasn’t just the companies and motorcyclists raising funds…Kids such as Sarah, who has just finished her treatment and is now in remission, was selling hand made candles on Saturday as a fundraiser to raise money for the Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation as well…it was an amazing sight to see such a warm community vibe and incredible support from over 3,000 people!
