Weekend Wrap: Banked Slalom, Après & Over 40cm of Fresh Snow

The weekends just keep getting better and better! It sure was a jam packed couple of days with so much on it was hard to find time to sleep…another weekend for the books…TICK!

On Friday, the 5th Annual Transfer Banked Slalom took place in the Playground area, where over 250 competitors were greeted with an incredible course that emulated iconic surf waves from around the world. From Cloudbreak to J-Bay and everything in between, there were turns that everyone could enjoy.

From pro’s to mini shredders, everyone flew down the course in true surf style…a perfect event for any level of snowboarder…great times all round. It was Scotty James who took out the Open Men’s category, breaking the spell and scoring the bragging rights to the first Aussie to win the event…awesome!

Early Saturday the flakes started to fall! A total of 25cm throughout the day fell across the entire mountain, top to bottom, offering free refills on all tracks, what a better way to kick off a weekend than a POW DAY!

Saturday afternoon, it was all about the après with Corona hosting their Sunsets party featuring pumping beats from Running Touch! He got the crowd warmed up with his funky and electric tunes, getting everyone on the après level.

Come Sunday, we received 15cm of fresh, light and dry snow…putting on one of the best days of the season. Skiers and boarders loved the fresh bottomless turns to be had in the morning, followed by more fresh stashes throughout the entire day. Conditions are as good as they get right now…make sure you come up and try them it!
