Ricochet Rumble & Pump Track Party Wrap Up

It was a massive turnout for the second date of the Thredbo Gravity Series with Ricochet Rumble and Pump Track Party both coming together over the weekend to make up one huge day of MTB racing. The doubleheader attracted hundreds of riders of all ages and abilities, plus spectators who came from all over to witness the action.

The day kicked off with a whopping 299 contestants testing their speed down the highly popular Ricochet Trail in Osprey Ricochet Rumble!

Tim Eaton was the fastest racer of the day completing the course in just 8 mins and 12 seconds!

Elle Smith bagged the win in the Open Women finishing in 9 minutes and 13 seconds, whilst our youngest competitors also came in with some stellar times. Max Brophy was the winner of the U13 men’s smashing the course in 9 minutes and 14 seconds.

Pump Track Party

After taking a short break under the sun, racers were back on their bike that afternoon to compete in the crowd favourite Rockshox Pump Track Party. A total of 296 competitors signed up to take on the famous pump track event, a race that requires riders to “pump” around the track as fast as possible without a single pedal.

The fastest time of the day was the winner of open men’s. Kye L Kirk completed the track in only 18.898 seconds but was closely followed by Mike Ross who finished in 18.971 seconds.

Legend, Caroline Buchanan took out the open women’s with a time of 20.842 seconds, and the fastest under 18 category was U17 men’s, with Lewis Allbon finishing in 19.548 seconds.
