This summer, we’ll have a new and improved mountain biking and hiking offering as well as a bigger and better lineup of activities, entertainment and events. It’s the place to be!

From Sunset To Starry Nights | Australia’s Highest Hikes

With the picture-perfect Alpine Lakes Hike for keen photographers, the Aries Tor Hike for budding ecologists, the challenging Mt Townsend Hike for fit adventurers, and New Moon Hikes, Sunset Hikes and Meteor Shower Hikes for astrology lovers, there is a unique hiking adventure for everyone.

Thanks to recent popularity, we’re making our range of unique evening hikes bigger this summer. In addition to the much-loved Sunset Hikes, Geminids Meteor Shower Hikes and Full Moon Hikes, we’ll also offer a new series of Aries Tor At Sunset Hikes and New Moon Hikes.

From stargazing underneath the Milky Way to watching the full moon rise over the mountains and witnessing rare astrological events, we’re 99.9% sure these hikes will be a huge hit again!

Why book a Guided Hike or a Private Hike? We offer a range of Self-Guided Hikes as well as Guided Hikes and Private Hikes led by our knowledgeable and eco-certified local guides. Booking a Private Hike or a Guided Hike will help your get more out of your hiking experience as you can be safely guided through more adventurous terrain to access beautiful landscapes, all while learning about history, ecology and more along the way!

Our Private Hikes are becoming more popular as they provide more flexibility with dates and times and gives you a more personalised hiking experience that is tailored to your interests and abilities. For example, if you love photography, you can slow the hike right down to make sure you have enough time to get the best shot! Or if you need to go a bit slower due to age or ability, a private hike might make you feel more comfortable and confident.

Experience Pure Gravity | Australia’s Only Lift-Accessed MTB Park

With over 40 kilometres of lift-accessed downhill terrain for all abilities, an MTB School offering daily clinics with Australia’s top instructors, an extensive range of quality bikes and gear for rental or purchase and a huge calendar of MTB events, Thredbo is a world-class mountain biking destination.

This summer, we’re making some exciting updates to sections of the existing trail networks. These updates will see more trail riding accessible off the open ski slopes in the trees and new features added to existing trails.

This MTB season, we’ve committed to opening three chairlifts every day, weather permitting. While these three chairlifts may change throughout the season, having at least three lifts spinning at all times will ensure that riders can always access an exciting variety of terrain.

Ready to progress your skills this summer? Thredbo MTB School boasts Australia’s top instructors and offers clinics, lessons & programs for all levels. In addition to our existing range of MTB clinics and programs, we’ll have an exciting new specialty kids’ program on select days this summer. The new Gravity Groms sessions are a one-day program designed for kids aged between 5 – 13 to refine their gravity riding and racing skills with our PMBIA certified Instructors.

New to mountain bike riding? Thredbo is the ultimate place to learn! Last summer, we transformed our first-timer MTB experience by creating more terrain for beginner and intermediate riders. We debuted three new trails in the Cruiser area; Easy Rider, Paparazzi and Grasshopper that were specifically designed for less experienced riders.

With this whole area dedicated to beginner and intermediate riders, convenient bike and protective equipment rental and an MTB School offering daily introductory clinics, we can assure you that it’s a fun, safe and supportive environment for everyone.

Non-Stop Activities & Experiences

Trust us when we say it doesn’t stop at mountain biking and hiking! There’s yoga, golf, tennis, disc golf, Alpine Bobsled, the Thredbo Leisure Centre with an Olympic pool, squash courts, table tennis, basketball and a gym, just to name a few!

Hot tip? Make sure to grab an Adventure Pass Upgrade when you purchase your lift pass to score access to the golf course, tennis courts, the Thredbo Leisure Centre and the Alpine Bobsled from $10 extra per day.

With perfect picnic spots aplenty, rockpools waiting to be swum in and incredible views as far as the eye can see, make sure to save some time to get out and explore in between all of the activities!
