Back For Its 11th Year: The Transfer Banked Slalom Hits Thredbo This August
Posted on 9 Jul, 2025
Every snowboarder knows there’s one day on the calendar that stands above the rest – and it’s back!
Going down on the 15th of August, the 11th annual Transfer Banked Slalom is back and it’s shaping up to be bigger, better and faster than ever.
This event isn’t just a race, it’s a celebration of snowboarding in all its forms. From groms as young as seven to Olympic heavyweights, the Transfer Banked Slalom brings together generations of riders to battle it out on a fresh course that’s teeming with turns.
Each year, we work closely with park crew and Transfer to dream up a course that’s fast, fun and full of flow. It winds through the trees of Playground in the Cruiser area, lined with tight turns and stacked berms that will test the legs and the stoke. Riders get two cracks at laying down their fastest time… and competition is fierce.
The Pro Men’s and Women’s categories are where things really heat up, with some of the country’s (and the world’s) best fighting for the top spot – and while there’s a big prize pool on the line, the bragging rights might just be the biggest reward of all.
This year’s event comes with a little extra magic… literally. The 2025 artwork features a Genie in a Bottle, so expect playful, wish-you-could-ride-that-again energy woven through the branding, artwork and maybe even some course surprises. You never know what might get unleashed out there.
And here’s the thing: you don’t need to be racing to feel the hype. The Transfer Banked Slalom is just as much about the spectators. With fans lining the course, music pumping, and the snowboarding community coming together in one place, the atmosphere is electric from start to finish.
There’s a reason this event sells out every year – it’s snowboarding at its most raw, real and fun. Whether you’re racing of just their for the vibes, the Transfer Banked Slalom is a day you won’t want to miss.
Register now before it’s too late… see you in the berms.
