Ultra Trail Kosciuszko rolled through the region from 26 November, sending runners off on 30km, 50km, 100km and 100mi distances… with every journey ending with a will-earned celebration at Friday Flat in Thredbo.

Let’s take a look at how trail running took over Thredbo thanks to our friends at UTMB!
30km and 50km Races Get The Party Started

The 50km runners were the first to kick off a huge few days of trail running on Thursday, and not long after, they were joined by the 30km wave.

With most of the 3,700 runners in these two races, once the first finisher was cheered across the line at Friday Flat, the energy shot through the roof, and stayed there all day.

And 100km & 100mi For The Grand Finale
Yes you read that right, Friday morning saw the 100mile (that’s 160km!!) and the 100km racers take the stage.

And among the 100km runners? Two of our very own!

Matt (above) and Renee (below), both long time Thredbo team members, and avid trail runners, crossed the start line together and set out on a challenging 100km run on home soil.

As this is being written, they are beyond the half way point, and we are all cheering them on every step of the way!
A huge thank you to all the runners who came and left it all out on the trails, we can’t wait to do it all again next year.

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
