Storm Wrap | 39cm Of Snow And More On The Way? Yes Please!

Posted on 11 Jul, 2025

We’ve been hit with another awesome winter storm, delivering 39cm of fresh snow over the past three days, transforming the resort into a snowy paradise in the heart of the July School Holidays!

Overnight snowfall dropped a fresh 7cms across the mountain, alongside 147 pumping snow guns, adding to an already impressive storm total.

Keep scrolling to take a look at how the storm unfolded in Thredbo over the last few days, and what that means for fresh terrain!

Wednesday, July 9

We woke up on Wednesday to 12cm of fresh snow and blizzard conditions. While the wind was fierce, so were the stashes – with powder enthusiasts seeking out dreamy, untouched patches off-piste.

Thursday, July 10

With the storm swiftly taking a turn from snowy, to even snowier in the early hours of Thursday morning, Thredbo awoke to a thick blanket of snow in the village. Overnight snowfall clocked 20cm, and the flakes were still falling thick and fast. The groomers left some ‘powder for the people’ on the runs and guests didn’t have to do any searching for those dreamy, deep turns.

With flakes continuing to fall all day Thursday and into Thursday night, waking up to another 7cm on Friday was just the cherry on top. With winds picking up across the mountain, those who persevered were treated to huge powder pockets and wind-blown gold across the mountain as lifts opened up.

More Terrain Unlocked!

As of tomorrow, July 12, Sponars T-Bar is officially joining the party. With 39cm of snow sitting in the resort, Sponars will unlock plenty of untouched terrain for powder hunters to enjoy!
