Thredbo Achieves ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Certification
Posted on 3 Dec, 2025
At Thredbo Resort, our commitment to preserving and protecting our unique alpine environment has always been at the heart of what we do. This year, we are proud to take another major step forward: Thredbo Resort has achieved ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certification.

This certification marks the first time our operations have been formally recognised as meeting international standards for environmental management. It covers all aspects of the resort, including ski lifts, maintenance activities, wastewater treatment, and recreational venues such as the Thredbo Leisure Centre, Alpine Coaster, Golf Course, as well as Thredbo-owned dining, retail, and event spaces.
A Resort-Wide Commitment
Thredbo has a long history of innovative environmental initiatives. We embrace the opportunity to lead both our industry and our community, guided by our shared passion for the mountains and a commitment to sustainable alpine tourism. Operating within Kosciuszko National Park, we understand the importance of protecting this precious environment for generations to come.

Our environmental efforts are strengthened by collaboration with key partners, including Green Fleet, Red Energy, Keep It Cool, and local non-profit groups. By working together, we can ensure that the mountains we love are safeguarded while still allowing guests to enjoy the world-class experiences Thredbo is known for.

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
