We wasted no time getting into the fun terrain around Bogong Creek, and it didn’t take long to discover the snow quality was exceptional. After a long and flowing run all the way into the base of the creek, the group was buzzing and eager for more.
Next on the agenda: a push to the Ewes Rock summit. This meant an hour of solid skinning up steep terrain, testing both fitness and determination. The payoff, though, was massive. From the top, the group soaked in panoramic alpine views before dropping into a steep chute off the eastern flank of the peak.
The descent was nothing short of amazing, weaving through the trees, carving lines in untouched now, and wrapping it all up with a picture-perfect creekside lunch.
Days like this remind us why backcountry riding is so special: challenge, adventure, and the reward of turns well earned. With a crew this strong and stoked, the future of freeride looks very bright indeed.
With another healthy spring top up of snow, the conditions in the backcountry are looking unreal! Hit the link below to lock in your next adventure.
