Pump Track & Party Laps Heat Up Day Four Of Cannonball MTB Festival
Posted on 14 Feb, 2026
Day four of the Cannonball MTB Festival presented by Boost Mobile rolled in with all-time conditions, the sun lighting up Thredbo Bike Park and setting the stage for another stacked day of riding and racing.

Party Laps, No Pressure
The morning kicked off with the second instalment of the Specialized Party Lap, and it delivered exactly what it promised – good crew, good dirt and zero race clock.
More than 50 riders dropped into Kosciuszko Flow Trail, led by Aussie gravity heavyweights Dave McMillan and Remy Morton. What followed was a full-train send down one of Thredbo’s most-loved flow tracks. High speed, big berms and plenty of chaos… just classic Cannonball energy.

No timing chips. No start beeps. Just a community rolling top to bottom together.
Seeding Sets the Tone
Attention quickly shifted to the big one – official seeding for the RockShox Australian Open Downhill.

With over 450 riders on course, the mountain was alive from top to bottom as competitors dialled lines and laid down times on Thredbo’s notoriously technical downhill track. Precision, commitment and course knowledge were all on display as riders balanced risk versus reward ahead of finals.

With racing kicking off tomorrow, the spotlight turns to defending champions Troy Brosnan and Sian A’Hern, who’ll be looking to hold onto their titles against a deep and hungry field.
Pump Track Party
As the sun dipped behind the peaks, the action moved to Village Green for the Oakley Pump Track Challenge – and the vibe shifted up another gear.

Under lights and in front of a packed crowd, more than 300 racers went wheel-to-wheel on the tight, high-speed circuit. Every roller, manual and sprint mattered, with riders pumping for every ounce of speed.

The Pro Men’s podium saw Ryan Gilchrist take the win ahead of Bailey Meares and Duke Millington. In the Pro Women’s field, reigning world champion Sabina Kosárková showed her class, joined on the podium by Elleni Turkovic and Connor Mielke.
