Set to bring the local community together through fun and healthy competition, this is a great way to develop your racing skills, build relationships and race your mates. Taking place on Wednesdays throughout July and August, challenge yourself across a variety of Thredbo’s iconic race courses with a variety of terrain to test competitors of all levels.

The series is designed primarily in a teams format and calculated over the four races to determine the village race series champion teams. Overall fastest individuals for the four disciplines will also be announced at the final prize giving.

Join us for post race banter and a free drink after each race.

Everyone is welcome, you just need a NASTAR registration number to race.

Race Schedule

Day Race

Course Inspection: From 11:00am | Race course

Runs: From 11:30am | Second run follows immediately after the first run

Presentation: 3:00pm | Schuss Bar

 

Night Race

Course Inspection: From 5pm | Race course

Runs: From 5:30pm | Second run follows immediately after the first run

Presentation: 7pm | Friday Flat Bar

 

FAQs

  • Teams can be comprised of 3 – 5 racers. Having less than 3 racers finish each race will greatly hinder your scoring capabilities.
  • The team can be made up of any combination of alpine skiers/snowboarders/telemarkers/adaptive and combo of male/female. For example, a team could be all male skiers. Or a mix of any of the above.
  • Nastar handicaps will be used to award medals to participants within their age, gender and discipline. This is what makes everyone’s ability to contribute to the team count.
  • Points will be awarded based on Nastar medal achieved.
  • The three best medals per team will be used for points scoring each race.
  • Additional bonus points will be awarded for fastest 3 male/female in each discipline. (see points breakdown below for details)
  • Your teams’ total weekly points will be accrued through the season to give the overall champion team.
  • Individual registrations close at 5pm the night before.
  • $400 per team. This pays for between 3-5 racers per event for 6 events.
  • $150 per individual for 6 events.
  • No portion of any unused team fee is refundable.
  • All entries are eligible for weekly lucky door prizes and receive one free drink at the post race party.
  • Get together a team of between 3 – 5 racers.
  • Each racer must have an official NASTAR registration number. (Be sure to input your correct details for age/gender/discipline as incorrectly doing so may affect your handicap). Register online, nastar.com
  • Select a team captain
  • Team captain to register team and pay online
  • Once payment has been received, a link to waiver will be sent to team captain for all team members to sign

 

Individuals are also eligible to enter the series and need to register by 1pm the day before the event. Entries TBC.

  • Points are awarded based on your best Nastar medal each race
  • Platinum = 5points, Gold = 4points, Silver =3points, Bronze =2points, Finish = 1point
  • Your team score will be calculated from your 3 best medals
  • In addition there will be bonus points awards each race for the following (pending field size):
    • Fastest overall male/female alpine; 1st = 1point, 2nd = 0.75points, 3rd =0.5points
    • Fastest overall male/female snowboard; 1st =0.75points, 2nd =0.5points, 3rd=0.25points
    • Fastest overall male/female tele & adaptive; 1st =0.5point, 2nd = 0.25points
    • Bonus points will be added to your teams total weekly score
  • Yes you can. You will still be eligible to earn individual world cup points for season long standings / results.

  • Individuals need to register by 1pm the day before the event. Entries TBC.
  • World Cup points will be awarded each week for the top 10 fastest in each division male/female, alpine/snowboard/telemark/adaptive
  • 1st = 100points, 2nd = 80points, 3rd = 60points, 4th = 50points, 5th = 40points, 6th = 30points, 7th = 20points, 8th = 10points, 9th = 5points, 10th = 1 point
  • Points will be accumulated over the six-race series to determine the overall champions.
  • Individual season long awards will be presented at the final race party.
  • In the event of an injury to a team member (during the race series), you are allowed to substitute the injured team members’ roster spot for the rest of the season. The original team member will forfeit for the remainder of the series. 
  • In the event that a team member is sick (one off) you are allowed to substitute the sick team members’ roster spot.
  • This may be done once per team.
  • Any changes to team members must be made no later than 1pm the day before a race.
