Non-Stop Celebrations At Thredbo Resort’s Winter 2023 Opening Weekend | Snow In The Forecast!
While there may not have been any skiing or snowboarding at Thredbo’s 2023 winter opening weekend, that certainly didn’t put a stop to the fun with guests enjoying non-stop celebrations across the mountain and throughout the village.
- Thredbo Resort is celebrating a successful Winter 2023 Opening Weekend.
- Guests enjoyed a fun-filled weekend despite there being no skiing or snowboarding, enjoying a massive calendar of live music, entertainment and events on the mountain and in the village.
- Thredbo’s first après party of the season, Heineken Saturday ft. Kinder Sounds, brought a massive crowd to the Alpine Bar on Saturday night with live music, dancing and fireworks aplenty.
- On Sunday, Thredbo hosted the iconic G.H. Mumm Long Lunch, with attendees enjoying canapes and drinks in the village before moving inside for a beautiful custom lunch by our executive chef.

Thredbo Resort is celebrating a successful Opening Weekend for its 2023 Winter Season.
Guests enjoyed a fun-filled weekend despite there being no skiing or snowboarding, with a massive calendar of live music, entertainment and events on the mountain and throughout the village.
Thredbo Brand & Marketing Manager Richie Carroll said that it was incredible to see guests back in resort to celebrate the start of winter.
“Thredbo truly transformed into a winter playground for all ages on Opening Weekend. Our non-stop schedule of live music, events and entertainment ensured that even without skiing or snowboarding, everyone was able to celebrate and have a great time all weekend long.”

Across the weekend, guests also enjoyed scenic rides on the Kosciuszko Chairlift and Merritts Gondola, on-mountain dining and après at Eagles Nest and Merritts Mountain Haus, ice sculpting by Kenji, a Meet & Greet with Thredbo’s Olympic Ambassadors, non-stop live music, alpine bobsled rides, fireworks, alpine bungee, a magic show, face painting, Thredboland animal selfies, Lindt Chocolate s’mores, giant games and arts & crafts.
