The School Holidays are just around the corner and Thredbo has a mountain full of activities for everyone to enjoy! Whether your looking for a bit of peace, quiet & relax time or ready for some adrenaline seeking fun you can enjoy with the kids…it’s all here in Thredbo…the perfect summer escape.
Say goodbye to the congested cities, crowded campsites and busy beaches…Get your head in the clouds this summer and escape the noise…Below are a handful of must checkout activities to do these School Holidays in Thredbo.
– Mountain Biking –
The Thredbo Mountain Bike Park is a fun adventure the whole family can take on! Whether it’s your first time mountain biking or your a regular MTB family, Thredbo has a trail on offer for all ages and abilities to get the blood pumping and the smiles going.
The Thredbo MTB Retail Shop has rental equipment for all shapes and sizes as well as all the gear you need to stay safe whilst your out on the mountain having fun.
The Thredbo Valley Track is a great introduction to mountain biking for the family, a nice 3 hour easy ride along the beautiful Thredbo river. This trail will make for an awesome day out exploring the Snowy Mlountains with the family.
– Hiking, Exploring, Adventuing –
Thredbo boasts the best views in Australia, with thanks to the Kosciuszko Express chairlift you can walk to the top of Australia (literally the highest point you can get) and take in the breathtaking views the Australian Main Range has to offer.
Thredbo offers a variety of different walks and hikes you can enjoy with the whole family, from hiking to the top of Kozzie (#bucketlistgoals) to checking out all the ancient glacial lakes, there’s so much to do and explore out among the mountains. – CHRISTMAS EVE CAROLS –

Spend a magical night under the alpine stars as you sing Christmas Carols at Thredbo Alpine Hotels poolside venue. Local Carolers will be filling the hills with the sound of Christmas and our favourite jolly guy in the big red suit will drop by and say hi!
– OUTDOOR FAMILY MOVIES –
When: 23, 27, 29 Dec & 2, 4, 5, 6 Jan
Where: Kids Games Room, next to the Thredbo Information Centre
Time: 5pm
Enjoy watching an array of classic family movies with a mountaintop background and starry alpine night sky…there’s just something special about watching family movies outdoors…make sure you bring something warm and enjoy the free popcorn!
– NEW YEARS EVE FESTIVITIES –
New Year’s Eve Show | Thredbo Village | 5pm-6pm
Come and be amazed at the spectacular bike stunt show featuring Endo the Clown and his crazy antics!
New Year’s Eve Concert | Thredbo Village | 9:15pm – 12:30am
The famous Thredbo New Year’s Party is a great way to welcome in the new year. Music will fill the hills as Hard Cover Music will shake the Village Square into 2018! Suitable for all ages.
New Year’s Eve Fire Show | Thredbo Village | 9pm – 10:45pm
This amazing fire show will entertain you with an amazing acrobatic display, fire twirling, dancing and beats. This will get the Village Square warmed for a night of entertainment.
