What a week…Great June Conditions & Australia’s Longest Run Now Open

It’s all systems go…Australia’s longest run is open for action and June skiing and boarding conditions are great, plus the best news is that more and more runs set are to open each day.

Thanks to the 85cm of fresh snow we have received from last weekend’s storm and the consistent freezing temps and snowmaking every night this week, with an average of 185 guns pumping each night, it’s awesome on the mountain right now!

On Friday, the Supertrail opened and it sure did deliver! Hungry skiers and boarders thoroughly enjoyed ripping into the fresh corduroy couples with nothing but blue skies and sunshine…the perfect opening day for Australia’s longest run. \

“It doesn’t get much better than that! Supertrail is one of my favourite runs in the world and conditions are amazing for how early in the season it is” – William Tressider, Thredbo local.

Alongside the Supertrail, Antons made it’s season debut and there was an abundance of powder packed freshies for everyone to enjoy off-piste and long carving groomers to dial in your early season turns.

The Cruiser Terrain Park opened earlier in the week and was whipped into good shape, offering weekend shredders 12 features and 2 jumps that are catered to all ages and abilities. From grommets to grandmas, everyone was having a ball lapping the awesome new terrain park under the bright shining sun.

On Saturday, the Basin opened and again allowed for the early bird skiers and boarders to score really nice packed powder stashes and more corduroy groomers to sink their edges into. Eagles Nest Restaurant and Bull Wheel welcomed hungry and thirsty Basin shredders to an awesome new menu and the best view in Australia. Did you know Eagles Nest is the highest restaurant in Australia? It’s a must checkout this winter!

Sunday was another bluebird banger day, with skiers and boarders loving all the run and terrain variety…keep your eyes peeled on our social channels for updates on more runs opening this week. With a total of 7 lifts running, 25 trails and the Cruiser Terrain Park in action it was an awesome weekend of nothing but bluebird good time.

The best news is, experts are claiming there is another storm in the forecast set to hit next weekend which will hopefully deliver another solid top up of fresh snow…#LetItDump. Keep those snow dances up, winter 2018 is off to a great start!
