Summer in Thredbo is serving up the goods with a mountain of adventures still to be had and a stacked events and entertainment calendar coming up over the next few weeks.
So you don’t miss a moment of the action we’ve put together our top highlights…
Our Main Range hikes are back in action including the iconic Mt Kosciuszko Summit Hike! With rugged peaks, glacial lakes and unique flora and fauna, Thredbo’s extensive trail network offers a backpack full of choice. Must do hikes include –
- Mt Kosciuszko Summit Hike. This family friendly 13km bucket list hike is an iconic experience that is suitable for most ages and abilities.
- Alpine Lakes Hike. For those seeking a challenge the Alpine Lakes Hike is a 32km grade 4 hike that sees you hiking through rugged mountain terrain and past some of the highest glacial lakes in Australia.
- Merritts Nature Track. Ride the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift to get to the top of this beautiful 4km hike and wind your way down through stunning snow gum forest.

Thredbo’s Mountain Bike season keeps on giving with great trails and some of Australia’s biggest mountain bike events still to come.
Crowd favourites Kosciuszko Flow, Thredbo All-Mountain and the Cannonball Downhill are providing the goods all summer long with some of the best gravity riding in Australia. New trail Ricochet has proven a hit with punters and pros alike. Full of flowing berms and cruisy traverses, Ricochet is perfect for those looking to progress into more advanced flow gravity riding. Technical single-track riding more your speed? The new naturally cut Woody’s trail has heaps of variation and obstacles to navigate.
The all new Thredbo Gravity Series hits the Thredbo Mountain Bike Park February 2 – April 5 with three epic events. This new series is all about fun and pushing limits on creative race courses. Rider favourite Thredbo Super Enduro is also rolling into town February 22 – 23 for a huge day of riding and over $20,000 in cash and prizes.
Talking about epic mountain bike events, the Gravity Girls Retreat hits Thredbo February 14 – 16.
This retreat is made for girls who want to take their gravity riding to the next level and includes a huge schedule of riding, skills sessions, yoga and social events. Spend your weekend getting your gravity on and building confidence with like-minded adventurers and some of the best female instructors in Australia.
KOSCIUSZKO CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL
Sip the tops in hops February 7 – 8 at the Kosciuszko Craft Beer Festival and celebrate the art of craft beer brewing with more than 16 breweries.
The Kosciuszko Craft Beer Festival kicks off the frothy fun on Friday with the delectable Beer Ales and Tales Degustation Dinner featuring 5 dishes paired with 10 of the festival’s tastiest beers. On Saturday head to the Alpine Bar for the Kosciuszko Craft Beer Festival Market for great brews from over 16 local and national brewers, moreish food, live entertainment and more.
