White Noise | Dusting Of Snow + Snowmaking Fires Up Across The Mountain!
Posted on 23 Jun, 2026
We all know that sound – on those cold crisp nights in the mountain, when the snow guns fire up and the ‘white noise’ echoes down the valley. It really is music to our ears, and we were so excited to wake up this morning in Thredbo and hear 86 snowguns firing… even more so when we see that Mother Nature has also come to the party and delivered a nice dusting across the upper mountain.

With the stars out and the twinkling lights of Thredbo Village below, snow guns across Walkabout, Ballroom, High Noon, Supertrail, Antons and Sponars fired up, blanketing the mountain in a crisp white layer.

With the temps reaching a low of -3.4 up the top of the mountain, the snowmaking team were able to continue making snow across the mountain until well after the sun had risen.
Looking ahead at the forecast, temperatures are looking very promising for more snowmaking opportunities. Be sure to keep an eye on the Snow Cams to see just how quickly things can transform when our snowmaking team are on the job!

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
