With crisp mountain mornings it’s obvious Autumn is in the air. It’s the perfect time to get out and explore the Snowy Mountains.

February means the beginning of many changes in the alps as the height of summer has passed.

With plenty of daylight and extended chairlift hours there is plenty of time to stop and smell the flowers whilst they are still about.

It’s the most spectacular time of year for a wander in the mountains and stop to smell the flowers.

As we close in on the festive season, hiking holidays are to be had! Prepare for stunning views, dramatically diverse temperatures and persistent flies.

This week we were reminded that Mother Nature loves to keep us on our toes when it comes to ‘summer’ in the mountains! With a fresh snowfall on Monday blanketing the upper slopes of Thredbo and the alpine walks it was a chilly start to the week.

Summer is here! Don’t let the warm days and blue skies trick you into not packing that waterproof layer. Afternoon storms have been a theme this week, the temperature drops and over the range arrives the weather.

The first week of hiking season has treated us to fantastic clear skies and seasonal blooms. There is no better time to get out there!

Summer is upon us and it’s time to left foot, right foot around the mountains! All tracks in the Thredbo area are clear of snow. The days are getting warmer and we couldn’t be more excited to see the wildflowers have their moment in the spotlight!
