Take a Hike
Autumn is a magical time to explore the mountains by foot with a range of trails to explore! Whether it’s a family friendly hike to the top of Mt. Kosciuszko or an advanced day hike across the Australian Main Range, there’s something for every age and ability to enjoy. There’s also guided hikes for a truly special experience.
Rent a Mountain Bike
Find out for yourself why Thredbo is Australia’s premier mountain bike destination with more than 34 kilometres of trails to explore! If you’re new to gravity riding, take a lesson with one of Thredbo’s qualified instructors before tackling the mountain.
Take a Scenic Ride
Sit back and take in the mountain vistas aboard the Kosciuszko Express chairlift. The Kosciuszko Express takes 15 minutes one way and rises 560 vertical metres, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains of the Kosciuszko National Park and the stunning Thredbo Valley. At the top you’ll have easy access to several of the region’s most scenic hiking trails!
Have lunch at Australia’s Highest Restaurant
After taking a scenic ride up the mountain you can enjoy lunch from Australia’s highest restaurant, Eagles Nest, whilst taking in the stunning views of the Snowy Mountains. The restaurant’s signature hot chocolates will be a hit for people of all ages this Easter!
Alpine Bobsled Rides
Enjoy the family friendly 700m Alpine Bobsled track as it twists and turns its way down the mountain whilst you control the speed with a brake on your sled. Thredbo’s Alpine Bobsled track is located just a short distance from Valley Terminal along the Merritts Nature Track.
Ride the Merritts Gondola
The state of-the-art Merritts Gondola will open especially for the opening weekend of the Easter Carnival. Australia’s only alpine gondola takes guests up the mountain in just six minutes via comfortable European-style cabins. All scenic lift pass holders will have complimentary access to the gondola and on Easter Sunday guests will have a chance to win a Lindt basket of chocolate goodies on randomly selected gondola cabins.
Live Music at Merritts Mountain House
The opening weekend of the Easter Adventure Carnival will feature live music at Merritts Mountain House. Grab your friends and family and sit back on the deck for tunes by local fave Mark Travers, tasty meals and cold beverages. There will also be regular live gigs at the Alpine Bar and the Local Pub to keep the good vibes going in the village!
