Day One | Mountain Top Bliss

Today is all about getting your blood pumping. Kick starting your weekend of wellness the right way!

Morning | Hike To The Top Of Australia

Wake up feeling refreshed in the Thredbo Alpine Hotel and head to Cascades Restaurant for a delicious buffet breakfast to fuel up for the day.

Once you’re ready to go, head to Valley Terminal and hop on the Kosciuszko Chairlift for a scenic ride to the gateway of Australia’s highest mountains. Our tip? Chairlift rides provide a peaceful opportunity to do some meditation or take some deep breaths before you embark on your adventure.

The Mt Kosciuszko Hike is 13km and takes roughly 4-6 hours return with an abundance of natural wonders to take in along the way. Exposure to the rich sensory tapestry of nature like rustling leaves, chirping birds, and the fragrance of wildflowers is proven to alleviate stress and induce relaxation, so make sure to take it slow and bask in all of the sounds, scents and sights that await you.

Evening | Sunset Views From The Deck

For dinner, head to The Local Pub to relax on the deck and watch the sunset over the mountains. After a big day on the mountain, their decent portions of fresh and healthy caesar salads or burrito bowls are bound to hit the spot.

Local’s Tip: Have some spare time in the afternoon? Thredbo’s Leisure Centre has an Olympic-sized pool for laps, squash court, sports hall and a gymnasium.

Scenic Lift Pass

In summer, the ride up offers spectacular views across the Thredbo Valley. The Kosciuszko Chairlift takes you to start of the Mt Kosciuszko Summit and Main Range walks.

Day 2 | Taking It Slow

We’re slowing things down on day two! It’s all about calming the nervous system, enjoying the moment & being present with your surrounds.

Morning | Yoga Session

After a big day of movement on day one, yoga is the ultimate way to stretch out and clear the mind before another day of adventures. After, head to Cascades Restaurant to treat yourself with a delicious brekkie roll, before popping by the Bakery to stock up on picnic supplies.

Mid-Morning | Waterfalls, Wildflowers & The Perfect Picnic Spot

Spend the morning seeking out the many waterfalls and quaint rockpools across the mountain and throughout the village. Cold water immersion is the ultimate way to invigorate your mind and body with benefits that include enhanced blood circulation, reduced muscle inflammation, a boosted metabolism and even improvements to your mood. Brave the elements and try a dip in the Thredbo river or walk up Merritts Nature Track to see if you can find the famous rockpool.

Near the top of Merritts Nature Track, you’ll find what may just be Australia’s best picnic spot. A picnic table perched on a rock with views throughout the valley and beyond, there’s truly no better place to tuck into a salad roll. As you stroll up the track, you’ll be wowed by rare and iconic flora and fauna including Snow Gums, Alpine Ash, native flowering plants,
wombat burrows and more.

Treating yourself is an important component of self care! Tonight, head to Cascades Restaurant to enjoy a chef-curated seasonal menu highlighting the region’s local produce. Plus, the views of the mountain are the perfect accompaniment.
