From first timers through to advanced levels, all programs are designed for progression with kids that are similar in age and ability.

Snow sports lessons operate in all weather conditions. Lessons will be adjusted on days of inclement weather to include breaks to warm up where required. Transfers and refunds are not offered on days of inclement weather.

It is our preference for adults to keep their distance from all children’s lessons.

Our reasons are

  • Allowing children to bond with the instructor so they may learn most effectively
  • Child protection for all children involved in group lessons

For safety reasons we do not allow children 6 or under join Freeriders lessons. Upon request and special considerations we can accommodate 7 year-olds in Thredboland lessons.

Children skiing at between level 1 and level 4 will not require poles unless specifically asked to bring poles by their instructor.

For children skiing at level 5 and up they will be required to bring ski poles to their lesson. See levels here.

If your teen is 15 and over they can sign out without a parent/guardian at the end of their lesson, as long as the instructor has had parent consent at the beginning of the lesson. Teens are not allowed to sign out in the middle of the lesson. A parent/guardian will need to sign out teens if they would like to leave before the end of the lesson.
