DHaRCO XC Team Relay - Thursday March 14
To kick things off we will host a fun sprint cross country team event. This event will be run out of the tennis court area, adjacent to Snowgums chairlift and will utilise the newly established Sundance skills park. Each team will consist of three riders, with each team member required to complete one lap of the 500m course.
Entries for this event will be taken at the start line just prior the event. Thredbo MTB will host a free sausage sizzle for all competitors participating in this event.
Maxxis Flow Motion Cup - Friday March 15
The Maxxis Flow Motion Cup course will be approximately 4.5 kilometres in length and descends 465 vertical meters through a mix of open berms and long undulating straights. The Maxxis Flow Motion Cup is more suited to riders without access to a full downhill bike, but are still looking to enjoy the speed of Downhill racing. Riders can also earn valuable points towards the champion school result.
Riders must complete at least one practice run in the warm up session on Friday morning, prior to racing on Friday afternoon. It is strongly recommended that all competitors complete at least one practice run on Thursday’s unofficial practice session.
Please note that a full face helmet is required.
SRAM Cannonball Downhill - Saturday March 16
In 2019, the SRAM Cannonball Downhill course will be a mix of both the Cannonball Downhill Trail & Kosciuszko Flow Trail. Riders will be given the option of completing the technical but time-saving option on the Cannonball Downhill, or bypassing on the easier but slower Kosciuszko Flow Trail. The course will be around 3.8km with a vertical drop of 600m.
Riders must complete a minimum of 2 compulsory practice runs during official practice; one of these being on the race day. An optional seeding run will take place on Saturday morning for Division 1 competitors wanting to be seeded for their race run on Saturday afternoon.
Please not a full face helmet required.
Rockshox Pump Track Challenge - Saturday March 16
This event is designed to bring all competitors together, in a fun and entertaining format on Thredbo’s freshly re-built Pump Track on the Village Green. Division 1 and 2 competitors will be tasked with riding one lap of the course without pedaling. Division 3 and 4 will need to ride one lap of the smaller track without pedaling. The winner will be judged by the competitor taking the shortest period of time to complete the required number of laps. No championship points will awarded for this event.
Schools should nominate three competitors per division to represent their school in the “Pump Track” challenge. Entries should be made at the race office when first registering for the championships.
